How To Install Ubuntu 10.04 Lucid Lynx

Step-by-step easy installation guide for Ubuntu.
  1. Don't forget to back up all of your data before begin.
  2. Make sure that your computer is set to boot from a CD first before a hard drive.
  3. Insert the Ubuntu disc into your CD drive.
  4. Start or restart your computer. The Language screen appears. Select your preferred language.
  5. Where are you? window appears. Select your region.
  6. The Keyboard layout window appears. If the Suggested option is not correct, select the correct keyboard layout. Click Forward. Prepare disk space window appears.
  7. If you want to install Ubuntu over your entire hard drive, then Select Erase and use the entire disk and select the hard drive that you want to install Ubuntu. But if you want to install Ubuntu on a single partition Dual Booting, Select install them side by side, choosing between them each startup OR specify partitions manually (advanced). By default, the installer will give you the option to install Ubuntu side by side with other installed operating system on your computer.
  8. Who are you? window appears, Enter the requested information, and click Forward.
  9. The Ready to install window appears. Verify that the language, layout, location, and personal information are correct and click Install. The installation wizard begins.
  10. When the installation wizard finishes, the Installation complete window appears.
